Bucket Lists, hot air balloons and parachutes

how many kinds of olives are there?

how many kinds of honey bees?

how many kinds of pine trees?

different looking icelandic sheepdogs!

these are things i would like to find out and put in some of my paintings.

i decided Not to do the 144 panels i was after.  I changed my mind.  I found a more self loving, gentler way about doing my art.  I was thinking 144 to get myself on track of which kind of materials would I use?  what is the easiest, deepest, conservationist, soonest to hang way to do my painting.

i also discovered i may wish to cram images into some paintings and on others be more simplistic, almost nearly all white even.

I would rather now, not have the pressure to finish one painting a week for three years.  tho maybe without the added pressure i was putting on myself i might even do more?

we will see :)

the spaces between the atoms are what continue

We cannot necessarily grace within the tissues of the body or  the patterns that are in there, some layers still frozen need healing but we can grace the space between the cells in between the atoms of our being and make that new and from that place we can fly through my paintings because this place of being is what we take with us when we transition. this is an eternal body.

Finding a new perspective

There comes a time when enough healing and change has occurred that the perspective literally changes the way one looks at things.  For instance, sitting in a chair that I have sat in for 14 years and not ever let my vision go beyond a certain point out the window and then one day I do

#2 panel of 144 come sit paintings

Phrases for today

Sometimes no is is a great thing to say

Sometimes stopping what you are doing and showing some love is a really really good thing

Making your sweetheart fried rice and tofu rather than going to get it when he is tired and waning on cranky exhaustion

Live your truth

I am reading Kamal Ravikant's book "Live Your Truth"   In it he says, as you Love yourself life loves you back.

I feel this to be true.

Next panel

Gearing up for new 2 x 4 panel.  No minimalism here.  I hope to cram in as many prints as I can.  I keep saying I am going to do this.  2 winters ago I did go super minimalistic.  I left prints and did straight acrylic.large landscapes.

More prints = more fun = more energy

Have you seen my new watercolors?

Hi!

I have re emerged into the land of wonderful watercolor painting.  I have been here many times.  I re found my direction while taking a trip up the road to the white mountains where I sat for 2 days in my room with my portable watercolor station.  Prior to this event, I used to paint more elaborate overworked watercolors and prior to that, I used to bring in my supplies and stand and paint while I did substitute teaching for grades kinder to high in Sanborn Regional School systems.  And before that, I also did them.

They are not aceo size 2 x 3.5 inches.  They are their own size, 4.5 x 6 inches.  The size they become when I cut one sheet into 4 pieces.   They are simpler, not overworked and are of ordinary things and make believe animals.  I am listing them in my ETSY SHOP for $24.95.

This painting is a giveaway from pulling a name out of a hat of people who visit and comment or LIKE on my Face BOOK  page from now until Sunday March 2nd 2014.

Tobin Art - What is the Value of this Art I Create for You?

I do not sell my Art.  I sell the idea, the value and the mission of what my art is about.  When you purchase a small watercolor, a larger panel or imprints from Fine Art America or Society6  what you are really buying is an anchor into the best version of future now - with a gentler experience of time.  This literally radiates and flashes on and off like a standing wave opening space for more grace, love, trust, peace, comfort, joy, humor and ease to exist.

In my work I am using known and new structures and shapes and old and new ideas.  I have one foot in the Future as I paint because I access it through  recognizing it as I place I have been and that continues to be.

I have spent my life learning how to heal myself (largely through making art)  and becoming one with my art materials so they are like an extension of my body and spirit.  They flow out of me like my emotions of love and care, concern and best wishes and intentions for all living things.

I tend to paint animals and other things in landscapes that have the ability to trigger upliftment!!
 and UPLIFEMENT.

There is a certain type of feeling  through my work that gets transferred either through touch or the eyes and brings an awareness of a time line, a sense of time that is nearly timeless and patient.  Patience in the way of waiting no matter how long it takes to let go of the past and trust about standing naked, non attached to thoughts or things anymore.  And in this standing, this stance, there is still a buoyancy that overcomes the emptiness of letting go.  It is what I call grace.  And it does take trust.  And my paintings are symbols or little hands to hold in order to safely give away that which does not serve.

When Dreams Come True

By E. tobin eckian

When one makes a painting is it the same or different as creating manifest wishes or intent with one’s own thoughts?  A painting starts out with intention either clarified or not and begins to aggregate as paint molecules to form images.  When a baby is forming it starts with 2 cells which become three which continue multiplying.  When someone makes a wish is it in the same way?  Does the thought of whatever it is coming true multiply and aggregate similarly?

When a person strikes out to form a dream, a vision or a wish, it all beings with a single thought or is it a feeling I wonder?   A thought process then continues, which is really a string of thoughts made of conscious energy and they begin to aggregate and collect around the idea.

How working with a Painting as the Viewer Can Aid in Manifesting Your Wishes

How is the making of a painting different or the same in creating manifest dreams?  A painting starts out with some kind of idea, even when the idea might be to just start painting with no agenda.  Or there may be a specific idea or question in mind, such as the asking of “where is my home?”   Either way what begins to happen is paint molecules gather together like a homing beam around the thought intention.

Nature in the form of animals, land, atoms, even virtues like grace are whom I call to me with my hand and my heart and mind to move like the wind between the spaces of atoms and smaller bits in the painting.  These are the things that come together to create manifest conglomerates, substance, food, a house, a new pair of shoes.  We send out and in the thought and the energy of atoms begin to aggregate around the thought and soon enough the thing appears.

How the substances of manifest creation appear is what is fun.  Often it comes in a way not planned nor expected like how after two years of thinking it would be great to have some big heavy tires on my car a new set of snow tires leftover from last year’s model came up to be noticed at half the price.

I believe these forces can be invited to work with paintings.  And that once a painting is done, it continues to ‘house’ lightly these same forces which then can be invited in an a gentle reminder sort of way to assist in yet another’s dream or wish.

I am happily fascinated with how one supports their energies in creating new manifestations,  whether it is a new painting, money for a project, a new friend to share in life.  Clarity in vision is important.  When we hold seed thoughts the energies can come to support the building of the thought and the eventual full manifestation of that.   Friends, materials, resources begin to come.

What are other kinds of helpers maybe not seen readily to the eye?  I have had opportunity to make wishes while including the qualities of nature in the form of elements – conscious wind, earth, water, fire, ether.  I believe they are key in helping to draw energy around a building thought and make manifest that creation.

How does a painting have anything to do with manifest reality?   Because of the way it may have been created.  The calling forth of goodness, participating in the dance, and letting the story unfold.

A Painting with Symbology and Wish Intent

This painting is about Love and the quality of caring, and speaking one's truth.  It also contains within it a wish.  A wish for community, belonging, hearth and home:

 -  The Giraffe -  long neck, long truth, speaks of big things and large dreams.

-   The Fox is keen on keeping a look out for when to be active and pounce.

-   The Woman who is actually a Mermaid holds compassion for all in the process, the waiting, the       timing, and she is keeping balance on her tail.

-   There is an English teapot there, maybe to suggest having tea with friends in a kind and gentle way while keeping the line of communication open with all that is can be helpful.

There are also a bunch of peaches symbolizing abundance and prosperity.  The group of friends here are all together singing in a sort of way.  They are singing in support of abundance and of dreaming.  The giraffe has for many years come back to me as an important image with the spirit of the animal guiding me.  The long neck symbolizes as the term goes “to stick out one’s neck”.   This means to reach a bit.  The giraffe stretches its long and neck and also its very long tongue to reach the leaves from the branches of the acacia tree.
It is important like the Fox knows, to actually go out and make a little pounce on the thing you have been dreaming about.  This is really is the How and the When dreams come true.

more taking care "I've got you"

Last month while pulling out pins of a doll I made that I thought was a pin cushion, I realized  "Not a pin cushion!"   Like a voodoo doll I had installed my own pain through unawareness of my beauty and strength, truth, wisdom and love.  Those incriminating thought forms that occur so quickly as to seem normal, going unnoticed or maybe not caring enough?  I had made this doll from hand dyed silk and silk batting over 18 years ago.  She represented my future self, the caring aspect that holds the best intentions and closest degrees of movement within my eternal self.  Embracing the beauty of my being has been an ongoing process, maybe the only process I am here to do?  Here is a close up of a painting called "Woman of the Wind"  that I painted as I was pulling out the pins of self inflicted pain.

taking care of myself

being still in the stillness.  I am acclimating to the new year and the past holiday activity, the past of my life, the snow, the ice, the new paintings emerging like pieces of glacier breaking off from ancient giant chunks.
